Important Dates Spring Quarter 2010

Week 1

  • Monday, April 5th: Spring Quarter classes begin (College and High School)

  • Wednesday, April 7th: Online registration ends, instructor permission required to add classes
  • Wednesday, April 7th: IESL classes begin

  • Friday, April 10th: last day for 100% refund

Week 2

  • Friday, April 16th: deadline to register for college classes. College and high school students must be enrolled in at least 12 credits by this date. Special permission from the instructor is required to add any classes after this date, and a fee will be charged for each class. Caution for international students: registering late may hurt your immigration status.
  • Friday, April 16th: last day to drop classes without a transcript entry. After this date, a “W” will appear on your transcript if you withdraw from a class. International students must see an ISS advisor before dropping below 12 credits.
  • Friday, April 16th: graduation application deadline for adviser approval. If you plan to graduate Spring Quarter 2010, you must apply for graduation by this date.

Week 4

  • Monday, April 26th: last day for %50 refund

Week 5

  • Friday, May 7th: Non-Instructional Day *NO CLASSES* (ISS closed)

Week 8

  • Monday, May 24th: last day to withdraw from a class. Caution! International students must see an ISS advisor before dropping below 12 credits.
  • Monday, May 24th: last day to add a continuous enrollment class
  • Monday, May 24th: last day to change from credit to audit or audit to credit (instructor signature required). Caution! International students should consult an ISS advisor before auditing courses.
  • Thursday, May 27th: REGISTRATION for Summer 2010 and Fall 2010 begins.

Week 9

  • Monday, May 31st: Memorial Day. No classes.

University Transfer Workshops for International Students

These University Transfer Workshops are for international students to learn more about transferring to a university. Specifically, we will talk about planning your transfer, finding the right school for you, international student admissions and immigration requirements and tips for how to transfer successfully. International students who have completed one or more quarters of the AA or AS degree are encouraged to attend.

Internal Application Meetings for Graduating IESL Students

Internal applicants are current level 5 Intensive English (IESL) students completing one or more  IESL section (Reading 5, Writing 5, Grammar 5 or Speaking / Listening), and starting the College or International High School Completion program Summer Quarter 2010. Two meetings are scheduled for Spring Quarter, all internal applicants must attend both meetings.

1.    Internal Application Meeting #1: Information and Placement Tests

Date: Thursday, April 29th

Time: 4:30PM – 6PM

Location: Mountlake Terrace, Room 205 (MLT 205)

Description: In this meeting ISS advisors will provide students with important immigration and academic information about College and International High School Completion programs. Students will also receive permissions tickets to take required English and math placement tests.


2.    Internal Application Meeting #2.: Registration

Date: Thursday, May 27th

Time: 4:30PM – 6PM

Location: Mountlake Terrace, Room 212 (MLT 212)

Description: Students will receive important academic advising information, including English and math placement results, how to register for college classes, College / International High School Completion advising resources, information about program planning sheets and university transfer.
