Dear International Students,
Here is some information about the 1st annual EdCC ‘Leadership is You’ conference:
Are you a future leader, or would like to become one? Want to stand out when applying to a four-year university? Would you like to gain skills to use in your future job?
Please join us for Edmonds Community College’s first annual Student Leadership Conference, 12-6 p.m., Friday, January 21st! Get the skills necessary to develop and enhance your leadership abilities. All current Edmonds Community College students are encouraged to attend whether you have previous leadership experience or not. The $5 confirmation fee secures your spot for the conference, which includes educational sessions, a keynote speaker and dinner. Make sure to register early because space is limited!
You’ll get to choose and attend three different hour-long educational sessions of your choosing. These sessions promise to help you become a better leader from the inside and out and will serve as an excellent foundation from which you can build your future in leadership roles and positions. Whether you have held leadership positions in the past or not, you’ll improve your skills, get new ideas, and learn core principles to become an even greater leader to serve the community around you. You’ll also learn conflict resolution skills, organization strategies, and get meeting facilitation tips. The keynote speaker and dinner follow after the sessions.
Registration forms will be available at the Office of Student Life, Diversity Student Center, International Student Services, Housing Office, and many offices across campus. You can also download the registration form.
Priority registration deadline: Dec. 3

Dear International Students,
International Student Services would like to remind all EdCC international students about the EdCC policy against CHEATING.
- Taking a test/exam for another student
- Letting another student take a test/exam for you (online or in person!)
- Using a “cheat sheet” (list of answers) during a test
- Receiving or sending text messages during a test/ exam
- Using the internet to look up answers during a test/exam
- Turning in homework that another student did for you
- Allowing another student to copy your homework
CHEATING IS ALSO:
- Taking words that someone else wrote (from a paper, book, internet, pamphlet, textbook, etc.) and pretending that you wrote them. This is called PLAGIARISM!
IF YOU GET CAUGHT CHEATING:
- Teachers can give you a 0.0 (failing grade) for the homework assignment / test / exam / class
- The teacher can send you to meet with the Vice President of Student Services
- If you cheat more than once, you can get dismissed from the college and your I-20 can be canceled.
THIS IS A VERY SIMPLE EXPLANATION OF CHEATING AND PLAGIARISM. WE HAVE NOT INCLUDED EVERY EXAMPLE.
ISS ADVISORS ARE AVAILABLE TO TALK TO YOU ABOUT CHEATING AND PLAGIARISM. YOU CAN ALSO TALK TO YOUR TEACHERS.
