Winter Break

EdCC Closed December 19 – 26

On Monday, December 19^th through Monday, December 26^th the ISS Office and entire campus will be closed.  We will re-open on Tuesday, December 27^th at 9:00a.m.  Other department’s hours of operation may be the same but please check the website for accurate information.

In addition, Monday, January 2^nd is another campus wide closure in recognition of the New Year’s Day Holiday.  We will re-open on Tuesday, January 3^rd at 9:00a.m.

We thank you in advance for your understanding and support during this Holiday Season.

New student orientation:

The International Student Orientation will begin on Wednesday, December 28 at 8am in the Woodway (WWY) Building, Room 202.

This 3-day winter quarter orientation will last from December 28th- December 30th.

Conversation Partner Program

If you want to improve your English and meet new friends, then this program is for you!! The Conversation Partner Program provides you with the opportunity to experience other cultures, spend 1 hour per week with an international student and possibly help someone improve their English Conversation skills while exchanging ideas and customs. If you are learning a second language, it is a good chance for you to practice your skills!

Available scholarships:

• New & Transfer-In College or High School Student Scholarship ($500)
• College or High School Merit Scholarship ($300)
• Intensive ESL to College Scholarship ($300)

Instructions:    

Please do not turn in an application until after 12/16/2011.     If you are a continuing student, you must include your Fall 2011 grades in your transcripts.  (1) Download the application; (2) carefully read the requirements on page 1; (3) fill out the application on page 2; (4) attach your unofficial transcripts and Winter 2012 schedule; (5) fax, hand in your application to ISS; or you can scan and email the documents to: iss.scholarships@edcc.edu.

*The Edmonds CC Scholarship Committee is made up of three college staff members, who have kindly volunteered their time to review scholarship applications. The committee will change members every quarter. The ISS office will facilitate all communication in order to preserve the anonymity of the committee.
