ISS Advising During Spring Break

Dear EdCC International Students,

ISS would like to inform EdCC international students of the following important dates, end of the quarter reminders, and special ISS Advisor availability during the spring break.

  • March 19th: last day of Winter Quarter 2012
  • Week of March 19th to 23rd : the ISS office will be open regular business hours. Please see an advisor during the week of March 19th to 23rd if you need help with registration, transfer, immigration, or other issues.

It is important to check your Winter Quarter 2012 grades as soon as they are available on March 26th. If you have questions or concerns about your  academic status, or if you may be on academic probation, you should contact an ISS advisor as soon as possible.

Orientation Week, March 26th to March 30th

ISS Advisors will have limited availability for continuing students due to orientation and assisting new students.

Please note the following Drop-In Hours for quick questions about grades, probation, next quarter classes (i.e. adding/dropping), or other quick questions (5 minutes or less), on March 27th, 28th and 29th.

March 27th, 28th & 29th

Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday

Drop-In Advising (quick questions, 5 minutes or less)

10:00 AM to 11:00 AM

For other advising issues during March 26th to March 30th, such as  university transfer or OPT employment,  please contact the ISS office to schedule an appointment for the second week of the spring quarter.

EdMail E-mail for all EdCC Students March 13, 2012

Did you know that Edmonds Community College sends ALL IMPORTANT INFORMATION to your EdMail account?

Starting Fall 2011 your EdMail account replaced your personal email account for all communication from EdCC regarding enrollment, classes, messages from cashiers, teachers etc.

You are responsible for communication sent to your EdMail account.

If you still want to use your personal email, you can FORWARD messages from your EdMail account to your personal account.

Spring 2012: Travel During Break and Registration Reminders February 28, 2012

Planning to travel during the spring break?

If you will travel home during the break, please plan ahead and come to ISS in order to have your current I-20, Visa, Passport and I-94 cards checked at least two (2) weeks before your travel date.

If you already have an appointment scheduled to see an advisor be sure to bring your I-20, Visa, Passport and I-94 card with you and the advisor you are meeting with will be more than happy to check and sign it at that time.

Or, you may come in during our DROP IN HOURS:

If you are planning to take less than 12 credits for Spring Quarter 2012 because you are graduating or wish to request a vacation quarter, please be sure to come in to ISS and fill out a Student Status Report  or make an appointment with an advisor to talk about your options to make sure you maintain good immigration status.

REGISTRATION REMINDER: Please  use this time prior to the quarter ending to register for Spring Quarter 2012 classes. If you need assistance or have questions come in NOW to schedule an appointment.  If  you have a short question (5 minutes) you may also come in during the drop in times  above.

High school students must see a high school advisor in Mukilteo Hall to register for Spring 2012.

IESL Students must attend registration on Tuesday, April 3rd, (WDY 202, Levels 1-3 10:00; Levels at 4-5 at 1PM). IESL Classes Begin: Wednesday, April 4. See an advisor if you have questions.

ADVISOR AVAILABILITY DURING THE BREAK:  Advisors will have very limited time available for current students during the week of March 26th due to our Welcome Orientation Week for the incoming new students and again the week of April 2nd due to the first week of the quarter.  So, CURRENT students please plan ahead and use this time now to get assistance if you need it.

Instructions:    

Please do not turn in an application until after 12/16/2011.     If you are a continuing student, you must include your Fall 2011 grades in your transcripts.  (1) Download the application; (2) carefully read the requirements on page 1; (3) fill out the application on page 2; (4) attach your unofficial transcripts and Winter 2012 schedule; (5) fax, hand in your application to ISS; or you can scan and email the documents to: iss.scholarships@edcc.edu.

*The Edmonds CC Scholarship Committee is made up of three college staff members, who have kindly volunteered their time to review scholarship applications. The committee will change members every quarter. The ISS office will facilitate all communication in order to preserve the anonymity of the committee. 

 

IESL Level 5 to College Registration Meeting Nov 30th! November 22, 2011

Intensive English Level 5 Students

Starting College or HS

Winter 2012

College Registration Meeting:

  • Wednesday, November 30th, 4PM

  • Mountlake Terrace (MLT) 210

You must attend this meeting in order to register for classes for Winter Quarter 2012. You will not register by individual appointment. Bring your English and/or math test results to this meeting.

High school students must make an appointment with a high school advisor in MUK 403 after taking the English and/or math test. Please bring your high school transcripts and test results to the appointment.

If you have any questions please come to the ISS office.
